Kim Delaney was an American actress. Her most well-known role is for her character, Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is best known for her part on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was born as the only child of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with 4 brothers. Although she was a child with a goal of becoming journalist, it was not until high school when Delaney started modeling. After moving away from New York City and gaining experience in commercials at New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. She was cast as a child's innocence in the soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many film and television dramas. Her career hasn't been satisfying or happy life in her personal. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past and had two failed marriages. In 2005 she lost the custody of her sole son.
