Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she released more music via the Internet including Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole had her sing her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team later that year because he was hoping for Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. Her announcement to sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. In the album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was able to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was later released in September. Then, in November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. It was released with the music video which debuted on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in one week. In December of 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
